A VERY RARE CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER BRACKET-LOBED DISH
元 剔紅桃花葵瓣式盤

YUAN DYNASTY (1279-1368)

細節
盤呈七瓣葵瓣式，漫淺式，隨形圈足。通體雕朱漆紋飾。盤內雕八瓣錦地，上壓桃花枝幹扶疏，花朵豐腴，或盛開、或含苞待放。盤外壁飾剔犀捲草紋，圈足內髹黑漆。

此盤構圖簡逸，疏而不露，圖案清雅，別具一格。雕刻藏鋒不露，隱起圓滑。

此器曾於1990年展覽於德國科隆東亞藝術博物館《龍與鳳‧李氏家族珍藏中國漆器》，展覽目錄36號；1991年日本涉谷區立松濤美術館《中國漆器》展覽，展覽目錄42號。

Carved lacquer dishes decorated with a single sprig from the Yuan dynasty are relatively rare. One close comparison is a circular red lacquer dish carved with a single sprig bearing peaches and flowers, also against a floret-diaper ground, and exhibited in The Nezu Institute of Fine Arts exhibition, Tokyo, 2004, The Colors and Forms of Song and Yuan China, Catalogue, no. 96.
