The drawing of which this is a counterproof was formerly in the Marius Paulme collection and was sold at Sotheby's, London, 26 November 1970, lot 82 (see A. Ananoff, L'oeuvre dessiné de François Boucher, Paris, 1966, no. 182, fig. 33).
