With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1953 and its subsequent sale on October 29th of the same year.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.

Reference 2526 is the first self-winding wristwatch made by Patek Philipe, produced from 1953 until 1960. Around 3000 watches were produced, the majority in yellow gold, with less than 400 in pink gold, and around 60 each in platinum and white gold. The present watch is part of the very first series of the watch, born without a ball-bearing rotor system.

Reference 2526 is illustrated in Patek Philippe by M. Huber and A. Banberry, 1998, plate 349, p. 217.
