With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and raised steel indices in 1937 and its subsequent sale on 12 April 1938.

With its sleek rectangular form and triple stepped sides, the present watch is the embodiment of the Art Deco period. The dial by itself is of typical 1930s design, an intricate inlay of three tones of silver and with vertically-placed baton indices and slanted Arabic numerals. All these elements give the watch a symmetric look with a hint of playfulness. Neatly fitting on the wrist with its slightly curved back, this steel watch captures the functionality and rationality so typical of the Art Deco period. A rare and very beautiful timepiece, it is the chance for any serious collector to own a watch from one of the most innovative eras.

For a similar Patek Philippe wristwatch with stepped sides, see Patek Philippe Steel Watches by John Goldberger, pp. 162-163.
