(Some occasional marginal worming catching a few letters, upper margin trimmed close affecting a few head-lines and foliations.) Contemporary vellum, spine ink-lettered (light worming to covers and endpapers).
FIRST EDITION. "The best known of Varenius' works. The Geographia generalis established a framework for physical geography capable of including new facts of discovery as they arose. The work became the standard geographic text for more than a century" (DSB). The first English edition (1672) was edited by Isaac Newton. Norman 2130; Willems 1120.
