The panel-inlaid case on a trestle stand, the two pedals are fitted as shaped extensions of the front legs, one lifts the dampers, the other operates the una corda (soft pedal), a due corde stop, of the early swivel-type, now lacking, which would have been surface mounted on the right hand key end block, fitted with a Backers-type English grand piano action, the facia incribed 'Mattaeus et Gulielmus Stodart Londini Fecerunt, Wardour Street, Soho'
