On short openwork conical foot, nielloed with a tughra of Mehmed V above two central crossed flags within dense scrolling floral ground, inscribed 'Afiyat Ulsun ('good appetite') and Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité in Arabic and Ottoman Turkish, the centre with an articulated fish, with maker's mark from Van; together with a silver gilt cup stamped with a later tughra
