The German sculptor Albert Hinrich Hussmann (1874-1946) participated regularly in the Berlin art exhibitions from 1899 and is known principally for his equestrian subjects. He was awarded the ‘Goldene Medaille für Kunst’ by Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1914. The present statue of a Teutonic jousting knight is characteristic of his style.
