Engraved map of Asia, outline coloring, image 380 x 507 mm (448 x 545 mm sheet). Two hunters flank the title cartouche and the map is embellished with animals, ships and sea creatures. Dutch text on verso. (Minor marginal dampstaining, a few short tear repaired on verso.)
The map extends from the Arabian peninsula through Japan. This map was the base for many maps throughout the 17th-century. It was published in the Hondius & Janssonius Atlases.
