The present Prince model is undoubtedly one of the most attractive examples of a platinum reference 971 ever offered in public to date.
This extraordinary watch impresses with its overall harmonious appearance and original condition. The magnificent case shows only little wear and has most probably never been polished. The two-tone pink dial has slightly aged with no signs of any restoration and enhances the overall look of this legendary wristwatch. It further delights by having retained its initial outlines, its very crisp platinum hallmarks and the clear engraving of the two last digits of the case number inside the bezel.
In production from the late 1920s until the mid-1930s, reference 971 was mainly available in stainless steel, silver, gold or combination of the latter, with a variety of different dial styles. Examples in platinum however, such as this watch, are exceedingly rare, particularly when preserved in such outstanding original overall condition.
