Arabic manuscript on paper, 253ff. as numbered plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with 17ll. of black sini with sura headings in red within red rules, verse markers formed of conjoined red circles, text panel within double red rules, catchwords, the first folio with a large gold and polychrome illuminated calligraphic roundel, the opening bifolio with typical gold and polychrome floral and geometric illumination surrounding text, numerous marginal notes, the final folio with 3ll. of large sini in gold, the facing page with a large geometric gold and polychrome illuminated roundel, later added date and attribution in the margin, in contemporaneous Chinese tooled red morocco with a cusped flap
