CHINE, DYNASTIE MING, EPOQUE XUANDE (1426-1435)

Cloisonné enamel cup stands of the Xuande period are very rare, compare to another Xuande cup stand with almost the identical decoration, but a vertical six-character double-outlined mark, illustrated in the Pierre Uldry Collection, included in Chinese Cloisonné: The Pierre Uldry Collection, New York, 1989, no. 23. Also compare to two other Xuande cup stands in the collection of the Palace Museum, Beijing, published in Metal-Bodied Enamel Ware, Hong Kong, 2002, no. 28 and no. 29.
