The present wristwatch is a rare example of the Seamaster Memomatic series and preserved in very good overall condition.
The Seamaster Memomatic ref.166.072 was launched in 1970, fitted with Omega’s calibre 980 movement with only a single barrel powering both time and alarm as opposed to the more common separate manually wound alarm barrel. Another unusual feature are the twin central discs which allow the alarm time to be displayed in hours and minutes, instead of with a single pointer as usually found in alarm watches. The pusher by 2 o’clock controls the alarm settings and a recessed pusher at 3 o’clock provides quick date adjustment.
