TIBET, 19TH CENTURY

拍品專文

The centre of this unusual and mysterious painting depicts the seated Samvara in sexual union with his consort Vajravarahi. His hands hold the vases with ambrosia. Both upper and lower section of the painting show emanations of the couple. All deities are depicted with white eyes, third eyes and teeth which contrast well against the dark background and gives the painting an electric, mesmerizing feeling.
