The female buddha of longevity and liberation sits amidst an open landscape, with auspicious gaze. Painted in the New Menri style, with Tashilhunpo-style clouds (three-lobed, green and white, with shaded recesses) this painting demonstrates a clear Chinese influence in its landscape, particularly in the blue and green mountain-form rocks in the foreground. The verso bears the following inscription, written in Tibetan Ume script:

By the all virtuous support of this life bestowing image of White Tara, may you swiftly achieve the state of the life bestowing goddess.
