Tasting note: A dense and expressive earth-inflected nose is composed mainly by black fruit aromas that are trimmed in a deft touch of wood. The round, intense and full-bodied flavors display a subtle minerality and fine persistence on the reasonably well balanced finish though there is a hint of warmth. This is not a great Chambertin by the lofty Rousseau standards but there is plenty of wine here, not to mention excellent richness and length. Consistent notes. 91p Burghound July 2009
