"From the year when phylloxera was first discovered in the Douro. I first tasted this sensational port from cask at the Krohn lodges in May 1999. Left a big impression of concentration. Then again about 15 years later after Taylor’s had bought Krohn and all its old tawny stocks. Dark deep color resembling iodine. Sweet nose clearly long aged in cask. Complex nose resembling a great Malvasia. Rounded mouthfilling, full with almost indefinite after taste. Great classic tawny from an legendary vintage. Last tasted October 2014." - Edwin Vos
