Shadakshari Lokeshvara is one of the thirty-one forms of Avalokiteshvara according to the Sadhanamala. He is personified by the six syllable mantra of the Buddhists, 'Om mani padme hum'. The four-armed Sadaksharilokeshvara is seated in vajrasana on the lotus pedestal. The lower pair of his arms is in anjalimudra, the gesture of adoration against the chest while the upper right hand is holding a pearl, the upper left arm is in the attitude of holding the lotus which is not present.
See a very close figure of Shadaksari Lokeshvara with the face painted in cold gold from the 14th century illustrated in Ulrich Von Schroeder, Buddhist Sculptures in Tibet, volume II, Tibet & China, Visual Dharma Publications Ltd., Hong Kong 2001, fig. 317C p. 1180).
