Presentation copy from the artist to The Countess of Avon, of an unnumbered copy of one of 400 copies, from an overall edition of 470 copies. This commission by Douglas Cleverdon contains the last engraving executed by David Jones before he was forced to give up the medium due to eye strain.
Large quarto (319 x 254mm). 10 engraved plates by David Jones, all but two full-page. Original white linen-backed blue boards (extremities lightly rubbed and soiled). Provenance: David Jones (ink presentation inscription dated 1956 on limitation leaf to:) – The Countess of Avon
