Chrysanthemum-shaped dishes were very popular in the 18th century, appearing in monochrome porcelains of the Yongzheng (1723-1735) and Qianlong (1736-1795) reigns. The porcelain dishes were made in a complete series of twelve colours, the most notable set is in the Palace Museum, Beijing, illustrated in Kangxi Yongzheng Qianlong, Hong Kong, 1989, p. 316, no. 145.
Compare with a similarly shaped spinach-green jade dish in the Beijing Palace Museum collection illustrated in Zhongguo Meishu Quanji, Jade, vol. 9, Beijing wenwu chubanshe, 1986, p. 176, no. 305. See a spinach-green jade dish of similar design in Chinese Art Series, Works of Art section, volume 9: ‘Jades’, influenced by Mogul jade carvings that were fashionable in the early Qing court.
