INSCRIPTIONS:
On the reverse Mahārājā Suratāṇa Siṅgha-jī 'Maharaja Surtan Singh'

Banera was a small jagir within Mewar founded by Kunwar Bhim Singh, fourth son of Maharana Raj Singh of Udaipur (r. 1652-80). Surtan Singh was born in 1696 but came to the throne as a child following the death of his father Raja Suryan Mal in battle.
