A pair of huanghuali 'official's hat' armchairs of comparable proportions, with plain aprons and spandrels under the seat and cut off ends on the crest rail and arms, is illustrated in Robert H. Ellsworth, Chinese Furniture: Hardwood Examples of the Ming and Early Ch'ing Dynasties, Hong Kong, 1997, pl. 3. Another similar pair, but of taller size and with cusped aprons, was sold at Christie’s New York, 13 September 2019, lot 892.
