Compare two similarly dated garment hooks of this type with angular contours in the Arthur M. Sackler Collection, The National Museum of Asian Art, Smithsonian Institution: the first (16 cm.) and formerly in the collection of Dr. Paul Singer, acc. no. S20012.9.1270, and the second (11. 5 cm.), acc. no. S1987.688. See, also, the smaller (8 cm.) jade garment hook of this angular type, but decorated on the shaft with two horizontal bands with raised ribs, illustrated by J. Rawson, Chinese Jades from the Neolithic to the Qing, British Museum, 1995, pl. 22:3, and subsequently included in the sale Hotung: The Personal Collection of the late Sir Joseph Hotung: Part 1; Sotheby’s Hong Kong, 9 October 2022, lot 195.
