Reference 16718
Launched in 1989, reference 16718 is considered as the successor to the 18k gold GMT-Master reference 16758. Most distinguishable, the model featured the newly updated Rolex caliber 3185 which allowed for the hour hand to independently advance or reverse, an enabling of the instantaneous setting of the second time. It was the first GMT-Master II model fitted with an 18k gold case.
