These two floral still lifes reflect the Neapolitan tradition of flower painting that flourished under the influence of Paolo Porpora, known in his lifetime as 'Paoluccio dei Fiori'. Each canvas presents a generous bouquet arranged in a sculptural urn upon a stone ledge, silhouetted against a dark ground. The compositions follow a format favored by Porpora and his circle: an asymmetrical arrangement rising from a classicizing vase, the blossoms extending toward the edges to suggest natural abundance.

We are grateful to Giuseppe Porzio for generously sharing his observations on the attribution of the present lot on the basis of digital photographs (written communication, 10 December 2025).
