Honzukuri, iorimune, medium point chu-gissaki, with curve of elegant koshi-zori, forging pattern regular itame, tempered edge choji-midare with an abundance of deep ashi throughout the length of the blade in bright nie, maru boshi, tang slight machi-okuri, dated Kanei Nijuichi nen (1644) Nigatsu Kishijitsu, 70.9cm.; encased in textured black lacquered saya bearing horn kurikata, an elegant horn soritsune in Momoyama style, with iron Shoami tsuba pierced with clouds, the tsuka unwrapped with Goto shakudo nanako fuchi-kashira with warriors at the Uji river in gold takazogan
