A SAPPHIRE INSET SILVER NIELLO RING
PROBABLY MAMLUK SYRIA, 14TH CENTURY
The conical bezel with an elegant niello naskh inscription, set with a lightly faceted cabochon blue sapphire, the shank of lozenge section narrowing at each end

The inscription is difficult to read in full. It appears to be a prayer in Arabic.
