A ROMAN BRONZE STRIGIL
CIRCA 1ST-2ND CENTURY A.D.
The curved blade decorated with stippled scrolling tendrils on the upper surface, with attachment ring through the rectangular pierced handle, 12 in. (30.5 cm.) long; two others, one with dotted tendril details and the handle with animal head terminal, both circa 1st-2nd Century A.D., 8¼ in. (21 cm.) long max.; a Roman bronze mirror with short attachment tang, the reverse decorated with concentric rings, 5¾ in. (14.4 cm.) diam.; a bronze mirror plate from a hinged mirror, the exterior with concentric rings, 3 in. (7.6 cm.) diam.; and a tinned bronze alloy mirror plate decorated with a border of punched holes, in two parts, 4 in. (10.1 cm.) diam., all circa 1st Century B.C./A.D. (6)
