INDENT Second Lieutenant Geoffrey Holland Thornhill, born 1888, educated at University College, London, gazetted 2nd Lieutenant (General Reserve), 1913 and was attached 1st Royal Warwickshire Regiment, 5 August, 1914; proceeded to France in the winter of 1914 where he and his company spent 32 days in front line trenches without a rest - wounded twice and invalided home January, 1915; he was appointed to command Labour Companies on the Isle of Wight, then at Didcot, where he was taken ill, died at Oxford, 9 May 1917 (Ruvigny's Roll of Honour refers)

Second Lieutenant George Percival Holland, born 1887, enlisted in the 15th Royal Warwickshire Regiment 17 August, 1914 and served with the B.E.F. in France and Flanders from 21 November, 1915; was wounded during the Battle of the Somme, 1916 and invalided home; gazetted 2nd Lieutenant, 4th Bn. of his Regiment 31 October, 1917 and became attached to the 7th Norfolk Regiment, January, 1918; he was killed in action near Armentières 18 March, 1918 (Ruvigny's Roll of Honour refers)
