The silvered dial signed Willm. Weichert "Patentee" Maker to the Hon Board of Admiralty, 119 Bute Docks Cardiff 2261 and inscribed with Prize Medal "garters" filled in red for Paris 1867 and Havre 1868, Roman hour numerals, later blued steel hands, subsidiary seconds dial with blued steel hand and engraved and filled in green, The Order of The Golden Cross and Crown From His Majesty The Emperor of Austria, up-and-down dial with blued steel hand, main frame assembly carrying reversed fusee, barrel and centre wheel, sub-frame assembly with chain protector, carrying remainder of train and Earnshaw escapement, cut bimetallic balance with cyclindrical heat compensation weights, blued steel helical balance spring, spring foot detent (with repairs), jewelled locking stone, brass bowl and gimbal, three-tier coromandel box with brass quarter-round edging and double brass stringing to front and top-lid, the middle section with inset rectangular plaque inscribed Willm Weichert Maker to the Honble Board of Admiralty No. 2261, flush recessed brass handles, the reflecting ring of the bezel inscribed By Appointment to H.M. The Emperor of Austria
