AN ETRUSCAN BRONZE FIGURE OF A WARRIOR
Attributed to the Hartog Master (name-piece)
UMBRO-SABELLIAN, CIRCA LATE 5TH CENTURY B.C.
The elongated figure striding with the left leg advanced, his right arm raised and originally holding a spear, the lowered atrophied left arm originally holding a shield, wearing a high belted tunic on his flattened body with additional raised bands indicating the hem and lower edge of the pteryges, the sex visible below, with dotted circles on the chest and mid-section, additional stippled design on the tunic, the large crested helmet with raised cheek pieces extending horizontally from the temples, with dotted circles for the eyes, an angular nose and a simple grooved mouth
