The fubako of rectangular form with rounded corners and slightly overlapping cover, decorated in gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e on a roiro-nuri ground with the Shochikubai, pine, plum and bamboo, the interior roiro dusted with muranashiji; together with a rectangular wood plaque lacquered in gold and black with a scene of Yasumasa playing the flute while his menacing brother Kidomaru watches from behind- box 16 1/8 x 3 3/4 x 2 3/4 in. (41.5 x 9.5 x 7 cm.), some edge wear and surface nicks; plaque 15 7/8 x 11 5/8 in. (40.3 x 29.5 cm.) (2)
