The very first Bande Dessinée et Illustration auction at Christie’s Paris realised €3,889,500. Over 900 collectors and connoisseurs have come to the viewing to admire pages and original covers, and a large amount of these viewers have also attended the sale. This auction marks a clear turning point for the British auction house. Over 73% of the lots were sold to enthusiastic bidders present in the saleroom, on the phone and especially on the internet with a record bidding participation on Christie’s Live which counted 85% of new clients.

We are proud that 61 new clients discovered the Christie’s Experience and our regular clients were able to discover the 9th Art. With bidders from 14 different countries, we have managed to open the doors of this new specialty to the international scene.”
