This sale of 19th Century European Art brings together an exceptional offering of some of the best examples of Barbizon, Orientalist, Victorian, Academic and Wildlife painting. Leading the sale is Marchande de grenades, a rare example of William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s Orientalist work. Also of note in the 95 lot sale is a stunning painting by Giovanni Boldini previously owned by William Henry Crocker, two superb Corots from the collection of Peter H.B. Frelinghuysen, Jr. and an impressive Alma-Tadema that exhibits all of the desirable hallmarks of the artist’s signature work.
