Christie’s London sale of 19th Century European Art brings together works from the one of the most diverse periods in art history. Representing a wide cross-section from different cultural and geographical milieus, the sale includes a plethora of works that demonstrate the influence of the many vibrant intellectual and social currents of the century.
This Spring Christie’s offers works from the Barbizon, Orientalist, Romantic and Academic schools. The sale will be led by Corot and Courbet landscapes, a section of Von Stuck symbolist paintings and sculptures and an Oriental marketplace by Pasini.
