20th/21st Century Evening Sale

To commemorate Christie’s 40th anniversary in Asia, the Shanghai live auction on 13 November will present a thoughtfully curated 20th/21st Century Evening Sale.

Spanning time and geography, the sale connects modern and contemporary art, East and West. From modernist classics by Zao Wou-Ki and Chu Teh-Chun, to the diverse practices of Chinese artists including Liu Ye, Zeng Fanzhi, Zhang Enli, Ding Yi, Xue Song, Hu Xiaoyuan, Xie Lei, and Zhang Ji, the sale showcases the rich breadth of Chinese art across generations and styles. At the same time, important works by international artists such as Pablo Picasso, Yayoi Kusama, and Annie Morris will also be presented in the Shanghai sale. With an international vision and global resources that cross cultural boundaries, Christie's caters to the collecting tastes of diverse collectors and continues to foster artistic dialogue across regions.
