Exceptional Chinese, Southeast Asian and Japanese works of art come to auction at Christie's Paris this December. Our Chinese section features a superb selection of Qing dynasty pieces, headlined by a very rare and magnificent twelve-panel coromandel lacquel screen dating from the Qing dynasty, Kangxi period.
Other highlights include a rare and important alter table, Qiatou’an dating from the 17th century, a large Qiangjin and Tianqi decorated ‘Dragon’ lacquer cabinet from the Qing dynasty and a rare pair of imperial cinnabar lacquer floral-lobed boxes and stands from the Qing dynasty, Qianlong period.
Amongst the fine pieces from distinguished private European collections on offer, collectors also have the opportunity to acquire a rare and important finely carved spinach green brush pot from the Qing dynasty, a parcel-gilt silver Cakrasamvara shrine, from the Qing dynasty and a very rare and important bronze ‘dragon and phoenix’ vajra, from the Yuan dynasty.
We will also highlight an important Chinese paintings section, including the collection from former Free French Ambassador to the Republic of China, General Zinovi Pechkoff (1884-1966).
