His leadership has driven historic results, with nearly €200 million in auction sales, notably featuring the world record for an African artwork and for an Oceanic artwork. Alexis is now Vice Chairman of Christie's France.

Victor Teodorescu

Victor Teodorescu

Head of Department | African & Oceanic Art

Victor Teodorescu joined the Christie’s Paris department in 2016, and was appointed Head of Department in 2023. Prior to his position at Christie’s, Victor has worked at the Brussels branch of the German auction house Lempertz.

In his current role, Victor is instrumental in securing important consignments, shaping the strategy of the department and contributing to its successful development. He has contributed to the success of several major collection sales : Barbier-Mueller, Michel Périnet collection, Patrick & Béatrice Caput or Guy Laliberté, or particularly important various owners sales recently marked by numerous world record prices.

Victor received his Magister artium degree in Philosophy and Art History from the Eberhard-Karls University Tübingen. He is a polyglot and fluently speaks French, German, English, Italian, Romanian, Spanish and Dutch.
Remy Magusteiro

Remy Magusteiro

Head of Sale | African & Oceanic Art

Based in Paris, Rémy Magusteiro has, for several years, developed a recognized expertise in the fields of African, Oceanic, and American arts. Trained in art history, political science, and law, he joined Christie’s in April 2018. In 2020, he was appointed Junior Specialist, before advancing in 2021 to the position of Head of Online Sales, and subsequently being promoted to Associate Specialist in 2024.

An Africanist by training, he cultivates a profound reflection on the fertile dialogues between cultures and aesthetics. His approach is firmly rooted in an international perspective, serving an art market in constant evolution.

Over the course of nearly a decade of experience, he has played a decisive role in the enhancement and sale of major collections, including those of Michel Périnet, Monique and Jean Paul Barbier-Mueller, as well as Béatrice and Patrick Caput. His expertise notably enabled the establishment of a world record for an online sale in his specialty in 2024, exceeding two million euros.

These remarkable results reflect both the rigor of his expertise and his commitment to the arts he supports with conviction.

Basé à Paris, Rémy Magusteiro incarne depuis plusieurs années une expertise reconnue dans les domaines des arts d’Afrique, d’Océanie et des Amériques. Formé à l’histoire de l’art, aux sciences politiques et au droit, il rejoint Christie’s en avril 2018. Dès 2020, il est nommé Spécialiste Junior, avant d’accéder en 2021 au poste de Head of Online Sale, puis d’être promu Spécialiste Associé en 2024.

Africaniste de formation, il nourrit une réflexion profonde sur les dialogues féconds entre les cultures et les esthétiques. Il inscrit son approche dans une perspective résolument internationale, au service d’un marché de l’art en constante évolution.

Au fil de près d’une décennie d’expérience, il a contribué de manière décisive à la mise en valeur et à la dispersion de collections majeures, parmi lesquelles celles de Michel Périnet, Monique et Jean Paul Barbier Mueller, ou encore Béatrice et Patrick Caput. Son expertise a notamment permis d’établir un record mondial pour une vente en ligne dans sa spécialité en 2024, dépassant les deux millions d’euros.

Ces résultats remarquables témoignent autant de l’exigence de son savoir-faire que de son engagement pour les arts qu’il défend avec conviction.
