Chinese Ceramics, Works of Art and Textiles

Sale Overview
Jeremy Morgan, Director, Head of Department, Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, Christie’s South Kensington commented: “The importance of fresh to the market lots with impeccable provenance was evident in this sale which realised £5,491,738, the highest total for a May sale in this category at Christie’s South Kensington. From one of many private collections, the Sir William Seeds KCME Collection, both a rare ivory ruyi scepter (lot 1191) and a fine zitan altar table (lot 1195) both sold for £181,250. Further collections offering small white jade pendants, fine porcelains and works of art, also created excitement in the packed saleroom from the beginning to the end.”
