Collection Danute et Alain Mallart : Bruxelles - Paris - Vilnius

Collection Danute et Alain Mallart : Bruxelles - Paris - Vilnius

Sale Overview

---

Forged over nearly 30 years between Brussels and Paris via Vilnius, the collection of Danute and Alain Mallart simultaneously embodies the audacity and sophistication of true European taste. From one work to another, the strong connection between contemporary art and design is evident in this collection. Bringing into dialogue the canvases of Marlene Dumas, Sigmar Polke, Tom Wesselmann and Yayoi Kusama with works by Jean-Michel Frank, Eugène Printz and Marc du Plantier, as well as sculptures by Antony Gormley and El Anatsui, the collection threads multiple through lines highlighting that a collection is much more than a process of simple addition.
