With 120 lots in total, this sale presents many unique works of art seen at auction for the first time in decades. Highlights include pieces by some of the most famous artists of the time, such as Quentin de La Tour, Pierre-Philippe Thomire, Richard Mique and Claude-Louis du Châtelet, who will be represented by one of the rare copies of the album of his original drawings and plans of the Petit Trianon.
The sale also comprises memorabilia, such as a basket that the Queen used when she was held at the Conciergerie and an invitation to the marriage of the Dauphin to Joséphine de Saxe. Each of these objects bears witness to the infamous story of the royal couple and the events which marked the history of France.
