Fine and Rare Wines Including Rare Spirits

Sale Overview
Christie’s sale of Fine & Rare Wines Including Rare Spirits on Thursday, 7 June 2012 totaled £784,213 / $1,210,825 / €963,798
Chris Munro, Director, London Wine Department commented : “Rare spirits dominated today’s sale in London as we saw active bidding from the room, the telephones and via Christie’s LIVE for the rare whisky and cognac on offer. The top whisky lot, a bottle of Glenfiddich Rare 1937, made a tremendous price of £46,000 - a record for any bottle of whisky sold at Christie’s. Other highlights from the spirits collection included The Bowmore Trilogy 1964 which sold for £13,800 and a single bottle of Royal Brackla 60 Year Old which made £7,500. Elsewhere in the sale we continued to witness strong bidding for rare Burgundy. A fabulous collection of wines from Armand Rousseau made well above the high estimate and was 100% sold. We look forward to our next wine sale in New York on the 15th June”
