Christie’s Wine Department are delighted to present a Spring auction of wines and spirits in London. A stellar collection of Burgundy is showcased in the sale, with bottles of Domaine Armand Rousseau sure to excite collectors. Chambertin, Chambertin Clos de Bèze and Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St Jacques are represented back to 1999. Domaine Ponsot also features from this cellar, in bottle and magnum back to 2000. The Côte-d'Or is further represented in the auction by René Engel from the glorious 1999 and 2002 vintages, Domaine Mugnier from 2005 and 2012, and excitingly a double magnum of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, La Tâche 1995. DRC continues with Assortments from 2015, 2016, 2017. A fabulous selection of white Burgundy from Domaine Leflaive features, including Bâtard-Montrachet 2014.
Bordeaux is highlighted by collections of Left and Right Bank wines. A stately home cellar contains cases of Château Latour 1990 and Château Margaux 1990. Deep case parcels of First Growths appear from an impressive single-owner collection; Château Haut-Brion 1989, Château Lafite-Rothschild 1989, 1998 and 2008 and Château Pavie 2000 are notable wines. Petrus 2004 and Le Pin 2004 feature as icons of the Right Bank.
Champagne is a wonderful aspect of the sale. Cristal 2012, various vintages of Dom Pérignon and Bollinger ‘James Bond 007 Edition’ 2009 will be lots to interest sparkling wine lovers.
The auction also contains rare Rhône wines, such as parcels of Alain Voge’s treasured Cornas and a case of the famous Hermitage La Chapelle 1990. The USA is well represented with a unique offering of Sine Qua Non wines, including Eleven Confessions 2012 and 2014. Screaming Eagle appears in magnum and Abreu Vineyards single vineyard wines are offered.
To celebrate Graham’s Bicentenary in 2020 we are proud to offer a special collector’s cabinet of twelve historic ports. Vintage Ports from 1963-2011 and Tawny Ports from 1961-2006 feature in a rosewood cabinet, with a decanter, a corkscrew and glassware.
