This October, Christie’s Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale returns with an exceptional selection artworks spanning the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
At the heart of the sale is a rare early oil by Wassily Kandinsky, alongside an exciting selection of works from Radiant Modernism: Signac to Albers, an exceptional anonymous private collection. The auction will also bring together outstanding examples of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, with works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro and Théo van Rysselberghe, alongside rare examples of German Modernism from artists such as Paul Klee, Emil Nolde, Alexej von Jawlensky, Lyonel Feininger and Alfred Kubin. The sale is further enriched by important twentieth-century works by Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Giorgio de Chirico, highlighting the breadth of artistic innovation that defined the impressionist and modern eras.
