Christie’s Paris is happy to present the Joaillerie Paris sale, taking place from 16 June to 26 June.

As part of our Parisian selection, the sale will feature twenty jewels from the personal collection of Claudia Cardinale, including remarkable creations by Cartier, Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels. Carefully chosen over the years, these jewels reflect the elegance, spirit and enduring legacy of one of cinema’s most celebrated icons. These Jewels from her personal collection will be offered at the heart of the Joaillerie Paris sale, just a few weeks after the tribute that will be paid to her at the Cannes Film Festival and 65 years after her first ascent of the red carpet in 1961. Christie’s is honored to take part in the celebration of a star who will be remembered as one of the greatest actresses in the history of Italian and international cinema, by presenting a collection of jewellery chosen, cherished and worn by Claudia Cardinale.

Violaine d’Astorg joined Christie’s in 2018 as the Head of the Jewellery department in Paris.

In December 2021 The “Paris Joaillerie” sale totaled €10,5 million surpassing any jewellery sale in France and setting a world record for an online sale in the sector.

Several world records were set during auction organized by Violaine such as an Art Deco necklace by Jean Fouquet fetching €980,000 or a ruby and diamond Zip necklace by Van Cleef & Arpels sold 819,000€.

Her areas of expertise include Art Deco jewellery and works by Suzanne Belperron and René Boivin. She is also a lecturer and regularly speaks at conferences about the History of jewellery.

Baoming Li joined Christie’s Jewellery Department as Associate Specialist in Spring 2022, after 5 years’ experience in French auction houses. Before, he earned luxury retail knowledge in different French high jewellery houses.

Baoming’s responsibility, in collaboration with European and international team, is to source high quality jewellery and develop an international collector network across the live and online sales.

Baoming holds a Master’s Degree in International Business and is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (FGA & DGA). With a cross-cultural background, he is fluent in English, French and Mandarin Chinese.

Baoming Li a rejoint le Département Bijoux de Christie’s en tant que Spécialiste Associé au printemps 2022, après cinq années d’expérience dans des maisons de ventes aux enchères françaises, où il a pu mettre en pratique les connaissances acquises auparavant dans le domaine du luxe au sein de plusieurs maisons de haute joaillerie.

Sa mission principale, en collaboration avec l’équipe européenne et internationale, est de sourcer les bijoux de qualités exceptionnelles et de développer un réseau de collectionneurs pour les ventes aux enchères live et online.

Baoming a obtenu un diplôme de Master en Affaires Internationales. Il est également gemmologue diplômé FGA & DGA par l’Association de Gemmologie de Grande-Bretagne (Gem-A). Bénéficiant d’une double culture, il parle couramment anglais, français et mandarin.
