This auction begins with the sale of 90 lots from the collections of the Desurmont and Prouvost families, renowned in the north of France. The selection offered reflects the quality and diversity of antique European ceramics with highlights from Delft and Tournai as well as the great centres of Rouen, Chantilly and Saint-Cloud. Many other pieces of exceptional provenance are offered in the sale, such as this exceptional Louis XVI ormolu-mounted porphyry vase, flanked with figures of helmeted women, from a private French collection. Several lots from the Murat collection will also be offered, as well as around 50 pieces from the collection of Vincent Laloux and the second part of the collection of an amateur of 18th century silver. Lastly, a selection of exceptional works of art will be offered including a pair of monumental wall-lights, a masterpiece of the German rococo style, and a pair of candelabra attributed to the famous gilder Pierre Gouthière.
