To commemorate Christie’s 40th anniversary in Asia, the Shanghai live auction on 13 November unveils a curated showcase of magnificent jewels and extraordinary horological rarities.

The jewellery session offers a superb selection of exquisite diamonds, coloured gemstones, and jadeite, alongside signed pieces from iconic houses including Harry Winston, Tiffany & Co., Chaumet, and Graff. Leading the offering is the breathtaking ‘Starlight’ Necklace by William Goldberg, a masterwork showcasing an impressive 90.80 carats of coloured diamonds.  A further highlight is a meticulous “Horse” brooch by Wallace Chan, created in celebration of the Year of the Horse.

The watch session is crowned by The John Shaw Collection Part II, presenting a celebrated lineup of contemporary and neo-vintage masterworks from Patek Philippe, Rolex, Cartier, Omega, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Vacheron Constantin, Breguet and more. Highlights include an important Patek Philippe platinum World Time with a striking red dial, the highly sought-after Nautilus reference 5711/1A-010 which was discontinued in 2021, and a stunning Omega 18k white gold and baguette-cut diamond-set automatic tourbillon, making its historic debut at auction.

Prior to joining the department in 2019, Mr Hsu also worked at two other leading international auction houses. Since then, Mr Hsu has played an instrumental role in a series of high-profile important collections including the unparalleled jewellery collection of the late Mrs Heidi Horten (2023) with the sale series realising a total of US$202M / CHF 180M, achieving the highest total ever for a private jewellery collection.

Mr Hsu earned a Graduate Gemology (G.G.) certificate from the Gemological Institute of America. He is bilingual in Mandarin and English.

After obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Geography from The University of Hong Kong, Harmmond had been running a family business in used luxury watches for more than 7 years with his father, one of the most experienced and leading watchmakers in Hong Kong. Harmmond is very passionate about watches and has extensive knowledge in vintage watches especially Rolex. He joined Christie’s as an Associate Specialist in 2017 after a short career in an international bank. In 2022, Christie's successfully secured one of the most valuable and important watch collections, “The Champion Collection”. With his great contribution in winning this splendid consignment as well as his professionalism in the industry, Harmmond was promoted as a Specialist in the same year.
