Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours

The sale presents a broad range of Old Master and Early British Drawings and Watercolours, offering a collection of works by a variety of artists with estimates from £400 up to £15,000.  It includes a group of late 18^th century Venetian drawings collected by Jakob Künhans, Secretary to the English Resident at Venice, offering an insight into the artistic and scientific circles of the time.  Foremost among them is a fine drawing, Turks with an augur looking out to sea, perhaps an allegory of the Battle of Lepanto, by Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo (£15,000 – 20,000).  Another private collection will be offered with forty watercolours from Golden Age Masters such as Sandby, Cox, Rowlandson, de Wint and Lear.
