On The Studio Desk is a specially curated sale which showcases works that reflect the refined and scholarly taste of the Chinese literati, spearheaded by a selection of Yixing tea wares and scholar’s objects from the Collection of Eileen and I.M. Pei, as well as three important ritual bronze vessels from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, all with illustrious provenances. The sale also features works of art ranging from jade carvings, ink stones, censers, wood and jade brush pots to carved seals, establishing an interesting dialogue between age-old literati traditions, and the spirit of today’s refined scholars.
