The Evening Sale: Treasures from a Swiss Connoisseur Part II

Sale Overview
For our second live auction in New York, we return to the “Evening Sale,” a concept pioneered by the Christie’s Wine Department almost a decade ago. Every lot in this sale is traceable back to its point of sale, with original invoices held by the department. Each lot was either bought directly in Bordeaux through various négociants (as listed in the cataloging) and shipped directly to the consignor’s professional wine cellar in Switzerland, or through some of the most celebrated wine auctions of the last two decades—including collections of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tawfiq N. Khoury, not to mention numerous unnamed single owner collections. 25 double-magnums of Château Latour 1982, double magnums of Château Margaux 1982, magnums of Château Mouton Rothschild and Château Lafite Rothschild 1982 bookend the collection. Even impériales of Château Lafite Rothschild 1961, and a methuselah each of 1983 and 1993 La Tâche are on offer.
